Xiaolin’s TUF fight REVIEW- Kalib vs. Kendall
Semis: Kalib vs Kendall
Kalib looks good early in the first round, with a few nice knees and a takedown. Kendal gets back to standing anyway, and is throwing some nice hard shots. Kalib kinda dissapointed me later in the first round here, I figured he’d be more aggressive than he was. Kendall’s high kick was answered a short time later by Kalib’s high kick, though neither looked very effective. Kendall finishes the round strong chasing Kalib with a flurry of punches the last few seconds.
Methinks: 10-9 Kendal
This round starts out strong with Kalib’s mid-level kick… that looked like it may have done some damage. I also liked the first kick Kendall threw after getting up from the first takedown. Kalib looked strong through most of this round, but holding the shorts and the cage so much after the ref spoke to him about that… that’s not nice. But Kalib gets a couple of takesdowns and uses a basic lay-n-pray on the last one untill Kendall struggled enough to force himself up. It was a fairly decent round.
I’m loving this fight thus far, the best this season so far. Is it too much to hope for a repeat Bonnar/Griffin finale fight?
Methinks: 10-9 Kendall (though the NSAC judges may have scored it for Kalib, uneducated in MMA as they are)
Round three starts with a good leg kick by Kalib. But Kendal gets a nice shot and probably broke some of Kalib’s ribs. Or possibly not. Game, set, match… Kendall WINS.
