Forrest Griffin’s Myspace been hacked by Stephan Bonnar

Saturday, July 29th, 2006

Anyone who has him on Myspace may have seen the odd bullitens lately, all of whcih claim Stephan Bonnar has hacked it and is posting the bullitens.

Now, who here thinks Stephan did this? And if so, why.

Personally, I think it’s someone trying to frame him… honestly, Stephan doesn’t seem to know enough about the puters that I know of to hack anything. I’m thinking it’s a Forrest fan trying to get Stephan arrested for hacking.

Randy and Rich head to Iraq

Friday, July 28th, 2006

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship star Randy Couture and current UFC champ Rich Franklin, leave today for Iraq to visit troops as part of a 10-day United Service Organizations tour. “It’s my third USO deal, says Couture, who spent six years in the Army. “We always get a huge response from the military. It’s inspiring.

Couture has been staying busy since Chuck Liddell’s fist sent him into retirement last spring.

He’s been training with UFC fighters, such as Forrest Griffin, and also has opened a training center in Los Angeles and plans another in Las Vegas. He’s finished taping “Ultimate Fighter 4 as a coach along with Georges St Pierre.

He’s also got a part in “Invincible, a movie now in theatres about Vince Papale, the bartender who made the 1976 Philadelphia Eagles, and he’s been working on another part in “Big Stand, a prison comedy with Rob Schneider. He plays an Aryan supremacist prisoner with “Beat Down tattooed on his knuckles.

He’s working with the UFC’s Mark Ratner to get mixed martial arts sanctioned in all 50 states. He’s got his own nutritional supplement line out.

Couture, who weighs about 230 pounds – “back up to heavyweight, he says – doesn’t plan to return to the octagon, unless the UFC and rival Pride could put together one bout. “I’d come out of retirement to face Wanderlei Silva, he says.

Love UFC Interview with TUF 1 Lodune Sincaid

Tuesday, July 25th, 2006

LoveUFC managed an interview with Lodune Sincaid(competetor on TUF season 1), current WEC LHW champ and WFA fighter. He just recently lost to Jason ‘Mayhem’ Miller on the WFA: King of the Streets card in round 1. I managed to get an interview with him, but his spelling and grammar aren’t the best… I left it as he wrote it:

LoveUFC: 1.) What got you into martial arts/fighting in the first place?

Lodune:
1. a bad child hood and lack of people skills . also I feel fighters are truely born cuz hell what person picks this for a job.

LoveUFC: 2.) How did you manage to get your unique nickname?

Lodune:
2. i was in the Navy and alot of my friends are black and I went to a black club with them and my friends said its like gorillas in the mist and you look like a fucking Vanilla gorilla and it stuck plus if ya ever lived with me its true that I throw alot of shit around

LoveUFC: 3.) What style of martial arts/fighting did you start with?

Lodune:
3. I started with Dad kicks my ass foo ,and TKD like every other kid.

LoveUFC: 4.) What kinds of things do you do to prepare for a fight? Training, diet, things like that?

Lodune:
4. well when my head is straight in the game I ussaly give a moth before to realy get ready, I always train when Iam not fighting anyway so a moth to sharpen the sword it involes alot but diet is all fresh food and protein and training is well hell you can buy the book I am written when it comes out!

LoveUFC: 5.) How does the Gorilla spend his relaxation time?

Lodune:
5. Well I dont know cuz I dont know what spare time is I think I live life very diff from the norm cuz I do things like step in the middle of dogfights just to see what happens ,I like to write poems ,yes poems WHAT! also I love to just hang at the Airport and people watch and fuck I dont know I use to draw maybe I should strat that agian and stay away from the beer store!

LoveUFC: 6.) What are some of the more interesting injuries you’ve gotten in training or a fight?

Lodune:
6. I got jumped in Norht Hollywood going to get my X-mass dinner (Jack In BOX) by 4 guys and I got a boot print on my skull that lasted a week so I fought with a boot print on my head next fight

LoveUFC: 7.) You’ve had an impressive run in 06 up to the Mayhem fight. Did you think he could choke you out, did you prepare for that at all?

Lodune:
7. He won fare and what ever but as far as training what is that? I did nothing for that fight I was beat before I got, well beat he was the better man but for two months beforefight I was the drunkest man and love struck man I did not train but for only 3 days! but he got me plain and simple

LoveUFC: 8.) After Mayhem, what will you do differently in training, if anything?

Lodune:
8. I think I will train ,yes thats the plan I know that when I and my mind get along I dont think there is anyone that can beat me anyone at 123lbs that is . honestly I know I made it this far on my great looks but I can scrap pretty good as well ! so I will go to a gym and find my team and I think I have now its in Hollywood and I will check it out first before i post what gym

LoveUFC: 9.) What’s next for our favorite Vanilla Gorilla? Is there a fight scheduled or are you gonna take a little break before the next one?

Lodune:
9. Hell no I fight in 3 weeks to defend my WEC belt so I will be doing some training this time and from now on I will not take money out of my wallet 2 times in row and not be able to help out my family . I will and have learned from this fight and its all about training thats my job and I will do it from now on!

LoveUFC: 10.) What differences are there that you’ve noticed between the WFA and the UFC?

Lodune:
10. the dif between UFC and WFA is the card/fighters I think WFA is about the fans not how many UFC T-shirts you can sell WFA You have fighters and people who care about fighting not how good we will look on spike TV. I think UFC is great but there need to be more big shows out there to keep them honest!

no worries thanks and want to say sorry for that last showing and I will not fuck you all over like that agian with a bullshit showing like that! the gorilla will keep swinging!

Thank you XiaolinFighter for interviewing Lodune for LoveUFC.

PRIDE OWGP Semifinal Brackets Officially Announced

Sunday, July 23rd, 2006

PRIDE officially announced the semi-final brackets for their open weight grand prix tournament scheduled for September 10th at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.

It will be what many fans had hoped for, the long-awaited rematch between PRIDE Middleweight champion Vanderlei Silva and Heavyweight knockout artist Mirko CroCop, while the other pairing leaves what was once a dream match (UFC Heavyweight champion vs. PRIDE Heavyweight champion) Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs. Josh Barnett.

Of course the remainder of the tournament will all play out on the same night, with two of the above mentioned four fighters competing twice in the same night. Whoever wins the above two matches will square off the same night in the finals to determine the PRIDE open weight grand prix tournament champion.

There will obviously be a lot of non-tournament matches added, but we haven’t caught wind of any of those yet. Stick with us for updated information on the PRIDE 9/10 show.

Yahoo Online Article Says “UFC Is Unstoppable”

Sunday, July 23rd, 2006

The World Cup wasn’t the only sporting event kicking up buzz over the weekend. Elbows and knees were also flying at UFC 61—the latest mixed-martial-arts extravaganza. We’ve already covered how the UFC has kicked traditional boxing to the curb in terms of buzz, and we see no signs of it slowing down.

Buzz on the UFC was up 113% over the past weekend, vaulting the circuit into our top 5 searches overall. Queries for “ufc videos,” “ufc 61 results,” and “ufc news” grappled their way through the Buzz Octagon.

The main attraction at UFC 61 was the grudge match between beyond-brash Tito Ortiz and living legend Ken Shamrock. Searches on both men were up over 150%, but Ortiz won the battle—both in Buzz and in the cage, scoring more than double the number of searches as Shamrock. “Tito ortiz pictures” and “tito ortiz and ken shamrock video” were especially hot.

Other fighters putting a chokehold on buzz included Tim Sylvia (+211%), who vanquished Andrei Arlovski (+96%); intimidating Brazilian Wanderlei Silva (+444%), who will return to the UFC this fall; and legendary Chuck Liddell (+175%), who is set to throw down at the upcoming UFC 62. We’re sure buzz will be beaten to a pulp yet again in late August when the countdown to 62 ends.
