Jess Liaudin to fight at UFC 70 ???
UK MMA veteran reporter Jim Burman just broke the news that Jess "Bad Boy" Liaudin has let it be known he is in the final stages of negotiations with the Ultimate Fighting Championships.
This comes shortly after the news that German fighter Dennis Siver has been given a three fight UFC contract. The pair are expected to be matched against one another at UFC 70.
UFC 70 is the UFC’s first show outside of North America since their last foray to the UK, UFC 38: Brawl at the Hall. The UFC are said to be planning four dates in the UK for 2007. One in Manchester, two in London and one in Northern Ireland. Other names mentioned for the UFC’s grand tour are Paul Daley, Terry Etim, Alex Reid, Abdul Mohamed and Paul Taylor.
Tipped for the top of UFC 70 are TUF 3 contestant Ross Pointon, TUF 3 Champion Michael Bisping and Heading the bill is Tito Ortiz.

UFC Game in the Works.
Variety reports that THQ has entered an agreement with the UFC to make UFC video games. The deal is for five years and will expire in 2011.
The first UFC game by THQ is already in the works. The game will likely be out late 2007 or early 2008.
The untitled UFC video game will not be THQ's first involvement in mixed martial arts. In 2003, THQ and Anchor developed PRIDE FC for the Playstation 2.

UFC 66 Thiago Alves failed Drug test with Spironolactone
The Nevada State Athletic Commission announced this morning that UFC 66 fighter Thiago Alves failed his post fight tests for banned substances. The ATT fighter who defeated Tony DeSouza by KO in Round 2, tested positive for a diuretic known as Spironolactone.
What is Spironolactone?
Spironolactone (marketed as Aldactone®, Novo-Spiroton®, Spiractin®, Spirotone®, or Berlactone®) is a synthetic 17-lactone steroid which is a renal competitive aldosterone antagonist in a class of pharmaceuticals called potassium-sparing diuretics, used primarily to treat ascites in patients with liver disease, low-renin hypertension, hypokalemia, and Conn's syndrome. On its own, spironolactone is only a weak diuretic, but it can be combined with other diuretics. Due to its anti-androgen effect, it can also be used to treat hirsutism, and is a common component in hormone therapy for male-to-female transgendered people. Also used for treating hair loss and acne in women.

It is thought that Alves took the drug to aid weight cutting, and possibly to mask other substance abuse.
