Well, we got the first TUF 4 fight which should be very nice.
Shonie Carter vs. Rich Clementi
Rd. 1 :
The round opens with alot of nothing. Then more nothing, and then a punch from rich and a kick from shonie, into a kick by rich. Takedown by rich, dropping a couple of elbows. Back up on the fence. Shonie almost takes a knee to the face, still on the fence, then he punches for a separation. An exchange occurs, and Shonie connects with a kick afterward. another kick by Shonie, and more nothing. Then Shonie connects nice with a punch and a kick, Rich hits a kick as well. Another Shonie kick/Rich Punch . Shonie takes it to the ground, but gets caught in armbar position. He escapes, Shonie takes side control and drops some shots. Then he stands up and does nothing but kick the legs. Shonie takes a knee to the stomachand is trapped on the fence, taking punches. End round.
I say they both sucked here… 10-9 Shonie(BARELY)
This round DID NOT IMPRESS at all. Neither was willing to fully commit to anything. Starting to piss me off, and it’s only 5 minutes into this fight.
Rd. 2:
This round starts with another kick/punch, and rich takes Shonie down and mounts. Shonie though puts up a nice fight from the bottom and gets into another armbar position. And escapes again, shonie on top throwinf some shots. Rich holds him down nicely, but Shonie manages some body shots and head shots that might be doing some damage. They both throw shots from their respective positions, and they’re both eating some weaker shots. Shonie gets side control and knees, then north-south into another armbar position, and gets out. He’s back in Rich’s guard, bnut gets the back, as Rich sort of lays there struggling for a bit. And againl, Shonie has north-south and they’re up again. Shonie connects some shots and throws a head kick which is blockes. Rich is throwing knees from the Thai clinch, and then they exchange some shots and the buzzer sounds
I say: 10-9 Shonie… better this round.
This round was better, but still not that impressive to me. But yes, Shonie won the fight by the judges cards.
I hope the next one is better.
