MMA weekly are reporting the rumour of Jens Pulver and BJ Penn to be the coaches in the next series.
Also saying that the format will be a set out of 16 lightweights (155lbs) 8 of which being UFC Vets and 8 being rookies.

i like the idea of there being a rematch between Pulver and Penn, which is the norm for the coaches to fight. But building up the lightweights even more? I think the lightweight division is stacked at the minute without throwing in another 16 fighters.
I wish they'd build up the heavyweights more. They did not get one worthwhile heavy out of TUF2. Why not have 8 lightweights and 8 Heavy's on the show? Angry

Thoughts?

cant see Penn and Pulver fighting as Penn is now at welter and Pulver is a small lightweight.

Definitely agree that the heavyweight division needs a good kick up the backside.

It'd be interesting, not to mention deserved, for Robert "Buzz" Berry to get a chance, especially as it would add to the exposure TUF3 got in the UK thanks to the inclusion of Bisping and Pointon.

If it *is* a case of the lightweights being given the exposure (which is a possibility due to White wanting to "rubber stamp" the return of the LW division), I can think of worse choices than Brad Pickett.

Think if Penn loses to Hughes he will drop down and fight Pulver for a contender shot at either Florian or Sherk at Lightweight.

I just dont see Penn beating Hughes this time and a match up i would love to see is Joe Stevenson Vs BJ Penn at lightweight.

As back in the lightweight day the fans were calling for Yves Edwards Vs BJ and it never happened, but we all saw what Stevenson done to Edwards, never seen so much blood in my life in a fight.

It was bloody and Stevenson did get the TKO. Dont like fights getting stopped for cuts though. Always should be a rematch. Dont think the cut was any worse in the Edwards/Stevenson fight to the Ray/Dewees but the outcomes were different? The fight was even up to where it got stopped.
Think there should be a rematch before Stevenson gets a shot at anyone else more high profile. He's still only 1-1 in the UFC since TUF so handing him BJ already IMO is a bit premature.

I think Brandon Vera's definitely one to watch. Other than that, you really have to be hoping for an influx of new talent.

The addition of Kongo over the recent couple of PPV's shows to me that they reckon that he has a shot. By his performance and attributes I reckon he could be in the mix.
Calling Mir out as well. Had to laugh at Mir, looked a bit scared. Cheesy

I agree! He's got a good fight domestically coming up against Pickett, and I think he can win that. If he does, and I expect him to, there's no reason for him not to make it in the big leagues.

To be honest don't you think he's a little small for 155lbs.  I think he's a little small 145lbs as it is. Ronnie has tons of talent but he'd be against guys who cut from 170-180lbs.  That will be too much.

I hope UFC/Pride will see sense and introduce a 145lbs/65.8kg division.  There were some rumours about Pride introducing a 143lbs division (which Shooto use) and that would be awesome.

I'm sure in time Ronnie would dominate that.
