Cage Gladiators III
Fight Review by LoveUFC.com

Ian 'The Machine' Freeman starts the night by introducing the fighters for the night.

Fight one: Paul gives the crowd what they want!

Before the fight Paul Cahoon (a Liverpool local lad) training at the (Golden Glory Gym) in Atherton had a fight record of 6 wins 10 draws and 0 losses.

Vs

Nikolas Cilikinas of the (Antanas Gym) was also undefeated boasting an admirable record of 4 wins 3 draws and 0 losses.

Verdict : Should be an interesting conflict.

Intro: Paul Cahoon was looking pretty mean and well up for this one !
Cilikinas was pretty calm and assured.

Round 1.

•   Paul went in from the off !  fierce, mad and eager to end it all very quickly took Cilikinas up and pulled off an early WWE style suplex and gave it to him big time, going at it like a hammer to a nail.
•   Nikolas replied well and lifted Paul up against the cage, mainly to contain Pauls early energy and aggression
•   Paul takes Nikolas down once again to gain the initiative half way into the first round.
•   Both the fighters are asked to get to their feet. Straight away Paul takes advantage of Nikolas’s weariness after the previous grapple and moves  in with the first real strike of the match.
•   Nikolas counteracts the early initiative by taking Paul to the mat and making his first strike and goes on to attempt a leg bar but unsuccessfully.
•   after a tough round and some decent moves Paul ends the contest after 3 minutes 43 seconds of the first round with a Knee lock submission hold and defeats the greek fighter by way of tap out !

My Verdict : Paul was a winner before he entered the ring’ 1st round Tap Out.

WINNER: PAUL CAHOON

Fight Two: Kerpe too strong for Sean, Sean all stamped out !!!

Sear Parr

Vs

Aurelijus Kerpe

This fight saw a professional mma-fight debut for Sean Parr of Atherton (trained by Rob Broughton) and only a second professional mma-fight for his opponent Aurelijus Kerpe. His only fight a victory. Fight records: Sean Parr 0-0-0 Aurelijus Kerpe 1-0-0.

Verdict : Not much known about these two. Will it be 2-0 to Atherton over Antanas Gym ?

Intro : Just the usual walking and music, nothing to report other than Rob Broughtons appearance.

Round 1.

•   Kerpe looked the more aggressive and took the initiative early on taking sean to the floor once and the cage twice. Sean looking shaky.
•   Tit for tat for a while
•   Both making testing strikes but no real penetration
•   Sean takes Kerpe down taking his knees halfway into the round but no real advantage taken. Containing Kerpe for a few minutes.
•   Ankle lock attempt by Kerpe very even with lots of grappling and containment.
•   Approaching end of 1st round Kerpe has advantage and looks the more skilled grappler.
Result :  Kerpe – 10-9

Verdict : both fighters looking to trainers for support. Kerpe looks to be edging this for now.

Round 2.

•   First moves made by Sean but not successfully
•   Kerpe takes Sean down 1 minute 20 seconds in to round Kerpe trying to drain Sean with consistent strikes to the head while on the ground.
•   Sean struggles up strikes with a leg and they exchage strikes and kicks muay thai style
•   Kerpe throws Sean against Cage as he takes initiative again Kerpe is becoming ruthless and throws Sean down before stamping on Seans head and gets ticking off by referee.
•   Sean looks jaded and tired after the stamp
•   Kerpe should win this soon
•   Sean all over the place

Result: 10-9 as Kerpe was deducted 1 point for stamping

Verdict : Kerpe looking assured and strong, he should go on to win.

Round 3.

Sean pulls out looking tired and hurt so round three didn’t happen.

My verdict ‘ Sean fought on as well as he could until the stamp’

WINNER: AURELIJUS KERPE

Round 3.

•   Jim gets a good head lock on jay early in the round which contains jays energy well.
•   Ref stands fighters up and straight away jay kicks jim to the head with a thai style strike.
•   Choke hold on jim by jay held for a good 1-2 minutes as they tussle and grapple for an advantage
•   Jays stand up game is much stronger and he shows it with a 8-10 hit flourish at the end of third round to win by way of technical knockout after 4 minutes 55 seconds of 3rd round.

Verdict : Jays superior stand up wins in an epic clash.

Colin ‘sexy boy’ Farricker (team kaobon)

vs

Genna (Belarus) (International k1 bout)

Verdict : Colin a Liverpool lad with lots of support ! Genna, a foreigner !
‘’I know who the crowd want to win’’

Intro: Lots of cheering for Colin….obviously. Colin entered the ring with a sexy boy thong hardly covering his particulars !!! Think he was trying to distract his opponent !

His thong obviously worked and his kicks weren’t bad either ! Colin Farricker was the more determined and more ruthless fighter on the night but it was a tough fight to call as Genna was certainly no pushover !

Verdict: ‘ Liverpool’s Sexy boy Farricker edges this evenly matched k1 bout and sends his opponent back to Belarus with a headache’

Result: -30-28, 30-28, 30-29 unanimous win for Colin Farricker

WINNER: COLIN FARRICKER
