Fight One

B Class Pro Middleweight (2x5 Minute Rounds)
Dean Amasinger (pro debut) v Wayne Murray (0-0-1)

Round 1

Dean Amasinger came out very strong with two side slam takedowns with an attempted arm bar, followed by some devastating ground and pound.

After a stale mate on the ground the ref stood both fighters up only for Dean Amasinger to gain control with another powerful side slam.

End of Round 1

Round 2

A very explosive beginning to the round, with Wayne Murray knowing that he has to knock out his opponent to get anything from this fight.

With a right hand that came from nowhere, Wayne dropped Dean to the mat. Wayne followed up with Ground and Pound.

The ref puts a stop to the punishment 11 seconds into the 2nd round.

Fight Two

B Class Pro Middleweight (2x5 Minute Rounds)
Tamel “Big T” Harding (1-0-0) v Dave Campos (0-1-0)

Round 1

Both fighters came out and circled each other waiting for an opening. Tamel shoots and takes it to the ground where he has a half guard. With some excellent ground skills Tamel gets into a striking position and ground and pounds Dave Campos until the ref had seen enough.

Big T ends this; 2.27 minutes in the 1st round

Fight Three

B Class Pro Heavyweight (2x5 Minute)
Rob Askew (Pro Debut) v Victor Aniolek (Pro Debut)

Round 1

The fight starts with Victor shooting and taking the fight to the ground, where he ends up in a very dominating position and lands some solid strikes.

After a bit of brawling against the cage, Rob Askew lands a solid knee to the face and then lands some lethal blows. These blows left Victor dazed and the ref ended the punishment 1.23 minutes in the 1st round with Rob the deserved victor

Fight Four

Full Pro Lightweight (3x5 Minute)
“Psycho” Steve Tetley (Pro Debut) v Denas Bonevkgicius (0-8-0)

Round 1

The fighters’ came out strong with some heavy punches being traded.  With Denas throwing some big wild bombs and lighting fast punches he looks very dangerous.

Psycho knows this and quickly takes this to the ground, straight into a very strong half mount.  Then from nowhere Psycho wraps Denas with a guillotine choke, which leaves Denas no choice but to tap out 1.34 minutes in the 1st round.

Steve Tetley lived up to his nick name “Psycho”, with the ref having to physically pull him off and break the choke.

Fight Five

Full Pro Light-Heavyweight (3x5 minute Rounds)
Christian Smith (2-2-0) v Michael Turner (2-0-0)

Round 1

The round starts with Christian throwing some solid low kicks, then shoots and secures the takedown with a very dominating position on top. Then Christian lets the bombs drop and Michael does well to try and cover up, but after some solid blows he has no option but to tap out at 1.51 minutes in the 1st round.

Fight Six

B Class Pro Middleweight (2x5 Minute Rounds)
Matt Hasland (1-0-0) v Cliff Hall (2-1-0)

Round 1

Cliff comes out strong cutting off the angles and giving Matt nowhere to run. The fighters tie up and Cliff takes it to the ground securing guard control.

Cliff sets apart to take his opponent apart with some solid strikes to the head.  Matt manages to roll out, but while doing so exposed his back, which Cliff took the advantage and got the tap out with a lovely rear naked choke 2.01 minutes in the 1st round.

Fight Seven

Full Pro Heavyweight (3x5 Minute Rounds)
Chris Cooper (Pro Debut) v Prezmyslaw Mysiala (3-3-0)

Round 1

Chris came out and throws a thundering round house kick to Prezmyslaw temples.  Prezmyslaw is rocked and quickly takes it to the ground where from nowhere he secures a choke and Chris has two choices: tap out or pass out!

Prezmyslaw gets the win 33 seconds in the 1st Round.

Fight Eight

Full Pro Welterweight (3x5 Minute Rounds)
Jimmy Wallhead (8-3-0) v Dennis Siver (9-3-0)

Round 1

Both fighters circle each other looking for an opening/mistake by their opponent. Jimmy shoots and takes the fight to the ground and sets to pick apart Dennis with some shots to the body.

It is clear to everyone to see that Dennis has been working hard on his ground game as his defense is very strong.  From nowhere Dennis gets an arm bar on, but Jimmy gets out before his arm is locked in.

End of Round 1

Round 2

Both fighters look pretty even so far.

Jimmy shoots and tries to take it to the ground, but Dennis sprawls and blocks it. Here persistence is the key and Jimmy takes it to the mat, this leads to a stalemate and the ref stands them back up.

Jimmy gets the takedown, but to the surprise of the crowd Dennis slaps on an arm bar for the tap 33 seconds in the 2nd round.

This was a shock result; just from the control Jimmy had during the fight and the speed Dennis got the arm bar.   This is why this is the sport of the future today.

Fight Nine

Vacant CWFC Middleweight World Title Bout (5x5 Minute Rounds)
Gregory Bouchelaghem (5-3-0) v Gegard Mousasi (14-2-0)

With the belt becoming vacant due to the current champ Martin Kampmann signing a 3 fight contract with the UFC and with both these fighters being Veterans of Pride Bushido this was looking to be a good encounter.

Round 1

Gregory shoots straight away and takes this to the ground, and then he tries to lock in the Guillotine choke. Gegard breaks the chokes and gets to his feet were the fighters tie up against the cage looking for that opening.

Gregory tries to work for position by foot stomping, which works and Gregory taking half mount. Gregory seems to fold Gegard in half and shows the crowd his awesome ground and pound skills.

Gregory secures the tap out 2.20 minutes in the 1st round.  Gregory Bouchelaghem gets the tap out due to ground and pound.

Fight Ten

Full Pro Heavyweight (3x5 Minute Rounds)
Wayne Buck (Pro Debut) v Will Coonie (0-2-0)

This is a clash of the heavyweights. With Wayne being a local boxing star turned to MMA, this is going to be a fight and a half where someone’s going to get knocked out.

Round 1

This fight starts as everyone expected with Wayne throwing some heavy rights that rocked Will. Will then throws a heavy body shot knocking the wind out of Wayne and sending the fight to the mat. But with the fight going nowhere the ref stands both fighters up.  With the crowd going crazy you can feel a knock out coming.

From nowhere Wayne lands a solid punch right on the button leaving Will seeing stars.
So with a Knockout 1.55 minutes in the 1st round much to the home crowds delight, Wayne Buck cements his pro debut with a dramatic win.

Fight Eleven

Main Event Vacant CWFC 73kg Title Bout (5x5 Minute Rounds)
Dan “The Outlaw” Hardy (12-5-0) v Alexandre “Xandinho” Izidro(6-4-0)

With this being for the newly created weight class, both these fighters want to be known as the first ever CWFC 73kg Champion.

Round 1

If looks could kill then Dan would be walking out with the belt.  I can safely say that Dan won the stare down.

Both fighters circle round, but Dan throwing solid jabs and by the look on Alexandre’s face he realises he is going to be in a war. Alexandre takes it to the ground, but Dan makes it look easy and gets back to his feet.

With Alexandre getting more and more flustered with the fight he tries to end it with a flying knee, but Dan sees it coming and shoots and pushes Alexandre up against the cage.

The fight goes to ground and Alexandre locks in a guillotine the fight looks over, but with something I have never seen before, Dan bounces his head free from the choke.

End of Round 1

What a round looks like Alexandre has ran out of ideas and Dan is like a man possessed

Round 2

Alexandre goes for the single leg takedown and sends Dan tumbling to the mat and follows up with a flying punch to the body. With a stale mate on the ground the ref stands them up and then Dan sees out the round with a string of solid punches. If they connected they would have taken Alexandre’s head off.

End of Round 2

Alexandre looked strong it the first half of the round, but with Dan’s resilience and all round game got the better again.

Round 3

Dan steams in starting where he left off.  Alexandre knowing he can’t compete with Dan’s striking takes this fight to the ground and secures a heel hook on Dan. Yet again Dan breaks free and gets to his feet. Alexandre stays on his back inviting Dan to take him on the ground. Dan measures him up and lands a devesting right hand square in the face.
Alexandre grabs Dan and keeps him on the ground, but Dan works for position and Ground and Pounds Alexandre into oblivion.  The ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the onslaught.

Dan “The Outlaw” Hardy is crowned the 73kg CWFC champion with a TKO due to Ground and Pound 4.56 minutes in the 3rd Round.

Yeah I know Ian, At CW Showdown you was all over the place. Looks like alot of stress on the night.

What happened with the winner of CW Showdown (sheffield), did he fight on the night for the belt? He was called Tomi(something) from Japan.
