Now, I saw the fight... and some say the elbows delivered to Travis Lutter's noggin were illegal. I do not believe so; under NSAC Unified Rules, it has to be a "spike" elbow to be illegal. This means a direct north-south path and connecting with the point of the elbow. The shots I saw had enough of an arc to them I would rule them within legal manuvers, since the back of the head was not getting hit.
Anyone else who saw the fight agree, disagree, or don't really care?

The elbow wasnt at the top on the head, it was on the top left of the head exactly what happens normally in the UFC. I think it was the angle on the camera that made it look as bad as it did. I personally would of throught the UFC would of stepped in and called the fight off if it was illegal. Didnt help that Herb Dean stuck his fat head in the way at the end.
Thats my 2 cents.

They looked like downward 'spiking' elbows to me. I think that was what Rogan was trying to get out of Randy at the end of the match but Randy sort of tried to side step they legality of the blows and just explain the rules. Didn't want to really commit on what he thought.
Dont think it really mattered too much anyways as I think he would of tapped from that position eventually anyway.

Everyone seemed to have forgotten about it. Probably was legal but looked dodgy from the camera angle.
